A/N: This might be a touch tooth-rottingly sweet, but that's my baby
A = Activities (What are their favorite things to do with you? How do you spend your free time?)
Barb is very hands-on, and at times quite hyper-active, so the two of you seem to always be doing something. One of her favorite things to do is teach you to play guitar so that you can jam together. Once you get the hang of it, your free time is spent just experimenting with sounds; sometimes Barb will join in and other times she just likes to listen to you play.
B = Boo! (How do they feel about surprises, giving and receiving?)
Giving: Barb is constantly surprising you with little gifts, spontaneous dates, or just surprise visits. She loves surprising you because she likes the way you light up.
Receiving: Barb doesn't really handle surprises well. She doesn't hate them, she just never knows how to react. Over time she gets better at it, but the poor baby is just always expecting something bad to happen.
C = Comfort (How do they comfort you when you're upset? When the tables turn, do they come to you, or try to handle it themselves?)
When you're upset, she makes it her personal mission to do whatever it takes to make things better for you. She'll sing your favorite song, take you to your favorite restaurant, or put on your favorite movie. And if all she needs to do is be there and listen, she's your shoulder to cry on.
When she's upset, she tries to hide it at first; bottle it up and pretend that nothing is bothering her. You saw right through her. You never forced her to tell you what's bothering her, but one concerned look from you was all it took for the floodgates to open. Deeply emoting around others is not her strong suit, but she trusts you so much. At first she'll apologize for not telling you sooner, but you could never blame her. You're there for her in the same ways she's there for you; anything she needs, you'll get.
D = Dance (Do they like to dance with you? How good of a dancer are they?)
Barb is so full of energy that dancing is just like breathing for her. When she gets excited about something, she dances. When a song she likes comes on, she dances. If you’re around, she's pulling you with her. She's not the best dancer, but she doesn't care and neither do you.
E = Excitement (How do they act when they're excited? What excites them?)
Her excitement is quiet at first, but then she turns into a full on firecracker. She is bouncing off the walls and visibly vibrating. The cause of excitement varies; it could be as simple as her favorite song playing or something like an event that she's been waiting so long for.
F = Future (What are their plans for the future? Do they see themselves getting married, having kids?)
Barb lives in the moment, never really taking too much time to think about the future. The future is so unsure, and she would much rather enjoy the now instead of worrying about something that isn't concrete. But when you do have those conversations, the one thing that she knows for sure about her future, is that you’re with her. Surprisingly, she does see the two of you married in the future, but kids are different. There are times where she wants kids and there are times where she doesn't. But as long as you're with her, she doesn't really care about having kids or not.
G = Gifts (What do they give you as presents? How often do they get you gifts?)
Barb is quite sentimental. She's always giving you little trinkets. A cool rock, a guitar pick that's your favorite color, some flowers that she thought you'd like. Even larger gifts are well thought out, your first guitar was in your favorite color, the first first vinyl record she got you was your favorite artist. She likes to make you mixtapes and cds. Trinkets are an everyday occurrence, and once a month you get a new mixtape from her.
H = Hold (How do they hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands, etc.)
Barb is touch-starved. At first she hated how much she just loved holding your hand, but now if you're not holding her hand or touching her in some way, she might die. Cuddling is a must and she is the little spoon. Anything that can have cuddling, will have cuddling: watching movies, reading, or just sitting around doing nothing.
I = Ideal (What's their ideal date like?)
Barb's ideal date is anything that makes you smile or laugh. As long as you're having fun with her, she doesn't care what the date is.
J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous easily? How do they handle it?)
She doesn't get jealous easily, she trusts you and she knows that she has your heart. When she does get jealous, she gets real quiet and tries to make herself small and invisible and she won't say anything because she's afraid of what you'll say. But when you notice this, you just grab her hand and squeeze it in reassurance or put an arm around her shoulder and pull her into you and kiss her forehead.
K = Kisses (How do they like to kiss you? How frequently do you kiss?)
Barb is touch-starved. Any chance to kiss you, she'll take. Forehead kisses, cheek kisses, nose kisses, kissing in general = 24/7 She loves making out with you, but also favors the soft kisses, the ones you give her in the morning when you've both have just woken up, the ones you give her when you think she's being cute, the ones you give her before every performance, the ones you give her when you're cooking and she tries to steal a taste.
L = Love (How do they show you that they love you?)
Barb had a hard time saying the words at first because she didn't trust herself to mean them. So you feel her love in the way she holds your hand, or the way she climbs into your lap while you're reading or even when she's practicing for a show and you're the only one she's looking at. Her eyes and her actions say it the loudest, but when she felt she could mean it, those three words were her favorite to say to you.
M = Melt (What do you do that absolutely makes them melt?)
The way you see her never fails to make her melt. You like to doodle and draw so you'll leave little drawing and notes for her. In her guitar case, under her pillow, next to her record player, anywhere you can stick a little note. She loves how easily you are yourself. The goofy faces you make at her when you think no one is looking, the stupid pickup lines you use whenever the two of you are together.
N = Nicknames (What do they call you, and what are their favorite things to be called?)
Barb didn't know what else to call you other than your name at first. She didn't want to insult you with an unflattering nickname so she literally spent hours in her room trying to find ones that fit. She ended up with a few that just felt natural; babe, sunshine, sketch, love, shorty (but you're taller than her)
You had no trouble coming up with nicknames for her. The first time you met, you called her ‘Rockstar’. She pretended to hate it, but it's her favorite. Other names you call her that she likes: star, barbie, queenie, sugar
O = Obvious (How obvious do they make it that they like you?)
She was so obvious about it, you had to be dead not to know. But you didn't want to push her before she was ready to admit it to herself, so you played the long game which was totally worth it in the end.
P = Pets (Do they have pets? Do they want them?)
Aside from Debbie, Barb's pet bat, you and Barb wouldn't mind getting another pet. It could be another bat or a different animal.
Q = Quiet (How are the calm, quiet moments with them?)
Comfortable silences are something that happen often, and they're some of both of your favorite moments together. Those moments where the both of you are just waking up and you're just taking each other in. Those moments before you both fall asleep and you're just reveling in each other's warmth. Neither of you are morning people, so when you're making breakfast nothing needs to be said as both of your brains are still waking up.
R = Romance (How romantic are they? What are their go-to ways of being romantic?)
Romance is not her strong suit, and it's not yours either. But both of you try and that is all you could ask for. She gets better at it once she thinks about it in a way that makes sense to her. Romance is like a song, it has a certain rhythm to it. Once she has that rhythm down, she's okay at romance. Her go-to ways of being romantic are making dinner for you, even though she isn't the best cook, bringing you up on stage to play with her at any of her shows, and writing you songs.
S = Safe (What makes them feel safe and comfortable around you?)
The way you see her for who she truly is and not who she's supposed to be. She’s always felt that everyone expects certain things from her because she's the Queen, but you don't. You expect her to be herself, regardless of status.
T = Tend (How do they act when you're hurt or sick, and vice versa?)
You would think that Barb would be the one to want to make the world regret hurting or wronging you, but it's quite the opposite. When you're hurt or sick, Barb does whatever she can to help you get better.
When Barb is the one hurt or sick, you have a tendency to take it personally. You do your absolute best to care for her in her recovery, but you're also plotting to disassemble the very thing that caused Barb to be hurt or sick.
U = Unique (What's an unusual thing about them that's oddly charming?)
Barb likes to keep a little trinket or souvenir from all your dates. It could be something simple like a leaf or a rock that was around or something trivial like the fork from a restaurant or the button that fell off your shirt from your first date.
V = Variety (Do they prefer to keep things the same, or spice it up?)
It's really fifty-fifty with Barb. There's comfort in routine but there's also the exhilaration of change. Date nights can be either depending on how you're both feeling.
W = Wash (What's it like taking a bath with them, or helping them wash up after a fight?)
Baths are one of those comfortable silence inducing activities. Baths are where the troubles of the day are washed away as you're both surrounded by each other enveloped in a blanket of love. You’ll wash each other's hair and scratch away the worries of the day.
X = X0 (How do they show you affection? How much PDA are they willing to show?)
Kisses and hand-holding. Any chance Barb can find to hold your hand and kiss you, she'll take. She had no problem with PDA.
Y = Yearn (What do they do when they miss you?)
Barb is needy. When you're apart for too long, she misses you so much. She'll wear anything that smells like you, call you any chance she can. When you get back, she's like a puppy, so excited and happy you're back.
Z = Zzz (How do they act when they get sleepy? How is it sleeping in the same bed?)
Sleepy Barb will not admit that she's tired. When she's sleepy, she'll get clingy but deny being tired.
Sleeping in the same bed is nice. She's the little spoon and you have to cuddle her or she won't fall asleep. She likes to lay her head on your chest and listen to your heart, eventually her breathing will match yours as you both fall asleep wrapped in each other's arms.
