How To Make Teff Porridge
- Add the teff grains to a saucepan, then stir in the milk, water, spices, salt, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 15 – 18 minutes, untilthe liquid is absorbed and grains are tender. Stir in the coconut sugar or maple syrup (if using).
- When done to your liking, portion it out and serve with the toppings of your choice.

- Make sure to use whole grain teff (not teff flour) for this recipe.
- Do remember to stirthe porridge occasionally while cooking to prevent sticking/burning.
- Feel free to add a little more liquid if it starts to get too thick.

Cook teff just as you would rice, quinoa, and other grains. Add 3 cups of water to a saucepan and bring to a boil, then stir in 1 cup ofteff. Reduce to a simmer, cover, andcookfor 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed. Remove from heat, and fluff with a fork before serving.

Ingredients
- 150 gram (1 cup) whole grain teff
- 500 milliliter (2 cups) almond milk
- 250 milliliter (1 cup) water
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom/nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
- pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar or maple syrup or more to taste (optional)
Instructions
